CRIME PREVENTION, AWARENESS & COMMUNITY POLICING

Costilla County Sheriff's Office strives to work for and with the community to help combat crime, better our communities and to achieve the highest level of professional Law Enforcement service for our citizens. With this in mind, Costilla County Sheriff's Office offers to work with our citizens and community businesses and organizations to identify areas within our community which have problems in crime, disorder and with general nuisances.

Otherwise known as Community Policing, this is a means to work together to search for solutions or alternatives to the problems which may deter a pleasant neighborhood or prevent a business district from growing. We hope to re-energize and provide positive insight for our communities and most importantly, to help our children grow up to be strong, right-minded individuals with a desire to succeed and improve the quality of life for themselves and for those around them.

Costilla County Sheriff's Office wants to develop an atmosphere in every school, residential and business district within our County which will prevent crime from flourishing and to assist our community members to feel secure during their daily activities. We do not want anyone in our community to fear retaliation for trying to improve their lives and towns. Should you, your family, your business, your school or any organization to which you belong wish to help us achieve this, please contact us with your comments, suggestions and tactics for approaching these issues.

Costilla County Sheriff's Office does offer residential and business security checks, school presentations against drug use, drug awareness, crime awareness and using Crime Stoppers as incentive to deter criminal activity. We can work with you in providing programs offering insight into child abuse, domestic violence, alcohol abuse, neighborhood watch programs and senior citizen programs. Our primary goal is to receive any input from our community members on what they believe can assist Costilla County in becoming a progressive, improving and upstanding community as a whole.

You will need Adobe Reader, a free software program, in order to view and print these forms.
